ABOUT GREAT BUILDER CONTRUCTION
Great Builder Construction was founded in 2022 by Jim Lundy and Kim McNulty, two seasoned professionals with extensive experience in the construction industry.
Jim and Kim previously worked together at a local contractor’s office, overseeing a wide range of projects, including new builds, additions, and remodels. Prior to their partnership, Kim had built a robust career in England as a plasterer, where this specialty traditionally leads to becoming a general contractor—referred to as a “builder” in the UK. Jim, on the other hand, spent several years working for a commercial contractor, gaining valuable experience in large-scale construction.
In 2022, Jim and Kim decided to combine their expertise and start Great Builder Construction. In the two and a half years since, they’ve completed a wide variety of projects, from new home construction to bathroom and kitchen remodels, patios, porches, and more. They’ve also handled numerous repair jobs, especially those related to water damage or natural disasters. Thanks to their exceptional work, they’ve earned recognition as preferred providers by several local insurance agencies.
Great Builder Construction is also proud to be the only contractor listed for Tehachapi on the Veterans Administration website.
In the past year, they expanded their reach by launching a sister company in Florida, Great Choice Construction. While their primary focus is Tehachapi, they have also completed projects in neighboring cities, including Bakersfield, Keene, California City, Rosamond, and Palmdale.
Jim has long been committed to giving back to his community. Over the past decade, he’s donated countless hours to local youth sports, serving on the Tehachapi Little League board as president, coach coordinator, and chief umpire. He’s also volunteered with Tehachapi Youth Football & Cheer, Tehachapi AYO, soccer programs, and the TVRPD basketball league.
In addition to their hands-on work, Great Builder Construction proudly sponsors several local youth sports teams and organizations, including Little League, youth football and cheer, District 9 Youth Rodeo, TMRA Youth Rodeo, and others.
